What if wild animals ate fast food? [Video]

fast food eating animal 1

Here’s an interesting animated short film looking at if the natural world also chose to indulge in the fatty foods we know (all to well) and love.  What if animals ate fast food?  Imagine the lethargic cheetahs chasing down prey, or crocodiles too fat to snap at zebras.  Imagine no more, because Rollin Wild has created this animation short depicting the overweight natural world.

…However that’s not what they originally intended.  This is actually a series of shorts about if animals were round.  I heard from one of the creators that “They are about inflated animals and were originally made for the ITFS and the FMX.”   Their Facebook page doesn’t really make it very clear, but it states ROLLIN’ WILD is a transmedia project brought to life by Flying Stone GbR.  Produced as part of the subject area Animation at the Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction at Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg.  So I’m not really sure what it’s REALLY about, just that it’s a kick-ass class project.

Recently, some fake versions of this video were floating around (Including on THIS website, sorry guys) asking that very question, “what if wild animals ate fast food?”  Well, this was not the original intention, but it has garnered a lot of attention from the internet (Including on THIS website, sorry guys) and makes an interesting point about the eating habits of people, so I’m keeping it on this site as food related, and not balloon related.

What ever the intentions, whatever the engine that is getting this shared around, I really enjoyed the series and hope they put some more together.

Here are some more shots of these funny and somewhat depressing animals.

You can head over to the Facebook page and get full size wallpapers if you want to use them as dieting motivational images.  Again, this film is not about dieting… but you can see where some may make that correlation…including me 🙂
