We live in amazing times. We are now able to have almost any meat, fruit or vegetable at any time of the year, and these foods will last longer on the shelves and in our homes than in any other time in history. Canned, boxed, and resealable packaging has helped with storage , but food additives have dominated production, and are found in almost everything we eat. The idea was to add flavor, color, texture, and longevity to our foods. It seems like a good idea… but what are the costs?
