Horse semen shooters a big hit with women

I’m sorry, horse semen?  Really?  The Green Man Pub in Wellington, New Zealand, created horse semen shooters as the pub’s entry in the 14th annual Monteith’s Beer & Wild Food Challenge.  The drink has been quite popular with women, while men were a bit more stand offish about the whole idea.  The chef at the Pub admits to have drank a shot and said it tastes a bit like custard…

Apparently horse semen is nothing new to New Zealand, at the most recent Hokitika Wild Foods Festival, the drink was offered as it came, or in cherry, licorice or banoffee pie flavors.  The Pub will be serving the shooters for the duration of June.

Even with the possible health benefits of drinking semen (due to potentially boosted testosterone levels via the DHEA hormone), Green Man co-owner Steve Drummond has not had any repeat customers for the drink.  It’s not cheap, the delicacy costs around $300 for 20 vials of semen.

“I don’t think anyone’s had a particular taste for it . . . no one’s addicted to it, lets put it that way,” he said.
