People like to take pictures of food. Lots of people. So why are they doing it? What is our obsession with documenting our food? With today’s technology, we have been able to completely document our daily lives. Photo sharing and personal/family blogging has become common place, and a myriad of tools exist to turn your diary into a media rich documentary.
At least once a month, 52% of people take photos with their mobile phones; another 19% upload those photos to the web.
People are almost never in the pictures; only 10% of hundreds of photos that 360i analyzed for this infographic included human beings.
It’s amazing to think about the vast amount of information we have amassed dealing only with our daily activities. There are now apps galore on our mobile phones that allow users to rate, save with coupons, geo locate and share all of the winners and sinners of the culinary world. So what took the top spot as far as picture popularity? Dinner was the most used term, and dessert accounted for the highest percentage of pics.
