Traditional holiday dinners: What’s cooking in different countries
Every country and culture in this world share one major theme when it comes to their Holidays… food. Whether they are abstaining or practicing gluttony, most families have traditional dinners they enjoy during the holidays.
Turkey and ham seem to be the most popular in North America, but it is interesting to see what others are eating around the world. Here’s a look at what’s cooking in different countries from confused.com.
As a Canadian, I was surprised to see “raisin” pudding on a plate with turkey as a traditional holiday dinner in my home country. Not even really sure what that is. I would recommend they Google “poutine” :)
They also seemed to have missed a rather large segment of the world, China (1.3 Billion peeps). During the holiday season, they sit down with their families and eat dumplings called Jiaozi (frickin’ amazing) which are usually filled with pork. Recipe coming soon.
