Single serving jar pie. Seriously. The girls over at Our Best Bites bring us this super cool, super easy, super tasty recipe. I really liked the idea of pie in a jar because not only can you eat them right away or freeze for later, they also create awesome little serving dishes. Think about this… ice cream containment.
The basic idea is to make your pie crust (or use store bought) and stuff it in a jar. Simply add your filling, then freeze and store or bake and eat. Now you can have FRESH, single serving pie whenever you get the urge.
- Get a jar
- Press pastry against bottom and sides of said jar
- Fill with your choice of filling
- Top it with more pasty or crunch (you can use the lid to shape the top)
- Bake or freeze
If you’re one of those people who dreamed of canning and have shelves of jars lying around, this might be a good project for you. Read the full recipe and view more photos here. They also have a pretty in depth cookbook for sale, enjoy!
