Sometimes it can be hard to dig all those beautiful, tangy pomegranate kernels out of the tough skin of the pomegranate. You end up with stained hands, bits of skin and membrane all over the place, and it almost seems like too much work to be worth the trouble. Here’s an easy way to separate a pomegranate.
- Fill a bowl with cold water.
- Submerge the pomegranate, and gently work out the kernels. They should slide right out of the skin.
- The pomegranate seed kernels will sink to the bottom, while the skin floats.
- Simply skim the excess floating bits of skin, and grab the juicy seeds from the bottom of the bowl! No fuss, no mess, and already washed!
